From 13 to 15 September, EUTM Somalia conducted a three-day seminar in Mogadishu on risk assessment and the safe handling of hazardous materials. The activity was attended by personnel from the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
EUTM Somaliaโs Deputy Mission Force Commander, Colonel Mattias JOHNSSON, and AUSSOM Contingent Operations Officer Sector 1, Lieutenant Colonel Joseph UMA, presided over the closing ceremony and the presentation of certificates.
The seminar addressed key areas such as the identification and assessment of chemical hazards, safe storage and handling procedures, the correct use of personal protective equipment, accident response measures, and risk prevention related to ammunition storage.
By strengthening knowledge and raising awareness of workplace hazards, the activity contributed to safer working practices, improved preparedness and greater protection of personnel.
EUTM Somalia remains committed to supporting its partners through professional cooperation, knowledge-sharing and capacity building.
