EUTM Somalia welcomed H.E. László MÁTHÉ, EU Ambassador-designate to Somalia and Head of the European Union Delegation to Somalia, to the Mission Headquarters in Mogadishu.
Ambassador-designate Máthé was received by the Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General Elio MANES, during one of his first engagements since taking up his new role in Somalia.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange views on EUTM Somalia’s contribution to the European Union’s broader engagement in the country, particularly in support of peace and security and the strengthening of Somali security institutions.
The meeting also reaffirmed the importance of close coordination between the EU Delegation and EUTM Somalia, as part of the European Union’s continued commitment to strengthening and deepening its partnership with Somalia in an integrated approach.
EUTM Somalia looks forward to continued close cooperation with Ambassador-designate Máthé and the EU Delegation in support of Somalia’s security priorities.
